It is an Object Oriented programming language that works on the Java platform and can also be run on the JavaScript language platform. The language was developed by a group of programmers at the Getbrainz Company, which is based in Saint Petersburg, Russia - as the name of the language is inspired by the island of Kotlin, close to the city.
Cotlin has been designed to deal with full compatibility with Java and the JDK development package and code library, and allows programming code with fewer lines, faster and more efficient compared to Java, as it is similar to the Swift language from Apple.
